RAID

All our web hosting servers are fitted with hardware RAID cards and utilise multiple disks.

This means that your data is spread over multiple drives and should a drive fail the remaining drives are capable of continuing to provide the data needed to power your website.

Once the failed drive is replaced it is automatically put back into the RAID array and once again data is stored redundantly.

Backups

While RAID arrays protect your data from drive failure RAID is not a backup solution and can't protect your data from accidental deletion of files or complete server failure.

Therefore TOLRA uses CDP (Continuous Data Protection) software from R1Soft to allow data to be backed up from the live servers a frequent intervals, e.g. once per hour.

Should you accidentally delete a file you can restore your file via the web based interface available within your cPanel account.
