Domain Names

A domain name is the unique name that identifies your website, e.g. www.tolranet.co.uk.

When choosing a domain name, most companies simply opt to use their business name as the domain name. In some cases you may find that your preferred choice of domain name has already been registered, and will have to think of a new name.

You should try to choose a short domain name that is easy to remember, these are often the hardest to find as many of the best names have already been registered.

You can check if a domain name is available, and even register it online by going to 123-reg.co.uk, or if you prefer we can check domain name availability and register it for you when we build your website. If we register a domain name on your behalf we always register you as the owner.

We recommend using 123-reg.co.uk as they allow full control over the domain name and do not charge any release fees.

If you choose to register a domain name yourself with a registration agent other than 123-reg.co.uk then please make sure that they allow the name server information to be changed free of charge, as otherwise it may be difficult or costly to point your domain name to our servers.
