Steps Taken to Build Your Website

Once you are ready to have us build you a website simply, contact us and we will guide you through the process. In the meantime the following gives an overview of the process taken to build any site.

1. The Initial Contact

We talk to you about what you want from your website.

2 .The Corporate Identity

You supply us with any relevant materials so that we can match your site to your corporate identity.

3. The Initial Design

We will create a design that we think is suitable, and show it to you. This is usually limited to 1 or 2 pages.

4. Design Refinement

We will then work with you to refine the design until we are both happy with it.

5. The Content

Under our guidance, you supply the words and pictures for each page of the site. Ideally a page should be around 500 words and have 5 or less pictures on it.

6. The Site Build

We build the remaining pages, populating them with data.

7. Out For Comment

We show you the site for comment, and work with you to refine the content.

8. Browser Compatibility Testing

We test the site in multiple browsers. Not all companies undertake this step; have a look at our browser compatibility testing information to find out why it is important.

9. Validation

We validate the site against the World Wide Web Consortium standards such as XHTML and CSS.

10. Its Done

The site is ready for the world and is moved onto a web server. We invoice you for the agreed cost of the work.

11. Search Engine Submission

We submit your site to our internal list of free search engines and directories.

Except for a very small number of projects we do not ask for any upfront payment, and only invoice you once the site is completed.
