The company founder Paul Arlott came from a background of working in the aviation industry, building functional prototype displays for human factors analysis. This included the specification, planning, design, coding and maintenance of the prototype; this has provided him with a deep understanding for the need to keep the customer involved throughout the entire life cycle of the project.
His background in aviation has also lead to an understanding of why standards are important. From the very first website TOLRA has always conformed to the appropriate standards laid out by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
